In the English town of Worchester in 1835, Worcestershire sauce was unintentionally created. Lord Marcus Sandy, the former governor of Bengal, India, developed a craving for his favourite Indian sauce upon his return to England. He asked drugstore owners John Lea and William Perrins to recreate it, but due to the sauce's overpowering odour of fish and vegetables, they chose to store it in the basement and completely forgot about it for two years. The sauce's flavour was altered by the maturing process, and customers took to it right away.

The history of cheese puff invention is a very peculiar and strange one. Cheese curls were unintentionally created by the Flakall Company of Beloit, Wisconsin, a producer of animal feed, in 1935. To prevent the grinder from clogging, the personnel there feed damp maize into it. An employee at the company named Edward Wilson decided to take some of the fluffy ribbons of moist cornmeal home and make the first cheese puffs by flavouring it.
